Section of the Cross in SFX Kanowit Year 2026

On April 3, 2026, Catholics in Kanowit held the Stations of the Cross Bukit Mamaloh ceremony with great solemnity and appreciation. This service is part of an important practice in Lent, especially in the run-up to Easter.
The ceremony began with the congregation gathering in the church and led by the priest and liturgical assistants. The congregation then followed a journey of 14 stops that depicted the suffering of Jesus Christ from the time he was condemned to death until he was buried. At each stop, prayers and reflections were read to help the congregation appreciate Jesus’ sacrifice more deeply.
Throughout the service, an atmosphere of silence and order was clearly felt. The congregation also actively participated through joint prayer, spiritual singing, and moments of self-reflection. This practice provided the congregation with an opportunity to reflect on their own lives and renew their faith and commitment to Christian teachings.
Overall, the implementation of the Section of the Cross on 3 April 2026 went smoothly and was full of meaning. This service not only commemorates the suffering of Christ, but also strengthens spiritual relationships and fosters the values of patience, sacrifice, and love among Catholics in Kanowit.
