Pilgrimage by the community of St. Anthony Sarikei
Bawan-July 5, 2025, A group of people from St Anthony Church Sarikei attended the Sacred Heart Chapel Bawan to celebrate the Way of the Cross prayer. They attended using 3 buses from Sarikei. The attendance was 140. They were led by Fr. James. As the opening ceremony Madam Evelyn read the history of the origin of the Bawan Chapel which is more than 100 years old since the reign of James Brooke. After that, they continued to celebrate Mass for 2 hours.
