“Walk Of Hope” at Chapel Sacred Heart Bawan on 27 Jun 2025
Bawan, 27 June 2025, Friday- The Walk of Hope for the RC Church is a pilgrimage that will take place on 27 June 2025, to the Sacred Heart Chapel in Bawan, Kanowit. Participants(approximately 800 people) will walk between the 9.5KM or 5KM routes and enjoy activities such as health screening, aerobics, Mass and lucky draws. This event aims to foster faith, fun, and friendship among the community.
To begin with, we moved from the Saint Francis Xavier Church, Kanowit with Fr.George, Fr.Ravi and Fr.Olivier to the Majau Wharf. Once there, we waited for the boat. After the boat arrived, we moved towards Sedaya Lama. From Sedaya Lama, we walked until the middle of the road and prayed before continuing our journey to the main road, Jalan Tada. From there, we moved towards the Sacred Heart Bawan junction to the finish line. Those who finish the journey will be given a medal each.
Then we went into the Chapel and continued the Mass activity for 2 hours. After the Mass was over, we held a lucky draw. After finishing, we opened the tent that had been set up to take back home. It is hoped that this activity can be continued again in the future.
