Katekumen ba St.Andrian, Tada, 8 Dis 2024

TADA – 8 December 2024 (Sunday) – A total of 46 residents of the Tada community attended the Catechumen ceremony at St. Andrian, Tada. This ceremony was chaired by Fr. George and Church expert Rc Kanowit. Those who want to become members of the Catholic Church, before receiving the sacrament of initiation in the Catholic Church are first required to carry out the catechumenate period.

The catechumenate period is a period of formation filled with various explanations of the teachings, rules or commandments of the Church to prospective baptismal candidates as well as the comprehensive formation of Christian life and values. Therefore, there are several stages that catechumens must go through so that from time to time they are guided and gradually brought into the life of faith, liturgy and the experience of love that they will experience as God’s people who are full of inner preparation. The guidance that catechumens receive to become part of the Catholic people helps them to know what steps must be taken in the Catholic Church. Through this training, a catechumen is also directed to gain a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Catholic faith.
